It's one thing if you see someone owning one ZR1 Corvette, but two???

I recently met Todd who is a super nice guy...ex-military who used to live in Germany and now in Austin, Texas. He has owned lots of cars including BMWs and Camaros. Recently his fascination has turned towards Corvettes.

He told me that when gets into something (like a Corvette or a Camaro), he really goes all in. When he got fascinated by Corvettes, he literally jumped from his love of Camaros to Corvettes. He sold off most of his Camaros except a couple. They're the drag-racing kind.

So, now he loves Corvettes. He has a highly modified Z06 and two ZR1s. One of them is modified to produce over 700 hp. The other one is completely stock. Like I mentioned before, he really goes all in.

The black ZR1 is the one we took out. It's pretty monstrous and the stock tires can't really handle the power. In the clips below, he's barely flooring it. If he did, all hell would break loose. You must watch the video because the supercharged LS9 literally screams. It was so loud in one of the videos that it was actually uncomfortable on the ears!

I used to think a Z06 was fast enough, but this brings new meaning to the word "fast". On slicks, or racing tires, I can't imagine how much quicker this car would be. Todd is going to the Texas mile shootout soon, so he can actually use all the torque. For a 3400 lb car, this is a ton of power.

GM did some cool things with the ZR1. For example, you can see the LS9 badge and lettering through an opening in the hood. GM definitely doesn't want people to confuse the ZR1 with the Z06 so they have to make it very clear.

GM really wants to make sure that you understand what you're driving. So, conveniently, when you start the car, you see the words "beast mode" flash on your dash. You know...just in case you didn't realize what it is you were driving.

Kinja'd!!!

There's a fan that keeps running after you shut off the car - I guess the reason is to cool off the engine. A supercharged V8 can get pretty hot especially when you're pushing it as much as I asked Todd to push it. Luckily, the car was in still good working condition after I was done with all the filming. Phew...

The ZR1 is the fastest production Corvette ever made and with Todd modifying it, the car is even crazier. It has an unbelievable amount of power and I'm not even sure if "beast mode" adequately describes the car. GM should have put a "Godzilla mode" option in the display. With the power and the sound, I think it would be a fitting term.

The ZR1 on the left is stock and the right is the one with 700+ hp. I'm not sure what Todd is going to do with the stock ZR1 but I think he has something in the works.

Kinja'd!!!

The ZR1s looked so appealing that a kid came by and wanted a picture taken in the car. How could you blame him? It's not every day you see not just one ZR1, but two of them !!!

Amazing.

Barely flooring it... Isn't that like "barely pregnant?" I mean, it's floored or it isn't, right?

Nice.

I drove a factory stock ZR1 and the rear tires would not hold on hard roll on at 55 mph.

I think the 'Beast Mode' light might have been a tuner mod........

Still incredibly cool attention to detail for a tuner. It should say 'Beware'.

And, you are right. The blower shreek from that motor is otherworldly. Because everything else is so buttoned down......

You know, I was surprised at the fact that I didn't really hear much of the blower from inside the car. It was way more pronounced when I was filming from the outside. There's an exhaust valve that opens up after 3K rpm so that could be why I didn't hear much of the whine.

This is the GM lovin I have been waiting for; as soon as I saw that Blue Lt1 I knew it was going to be good! The drag racing kind is the best kind.

On the sixth day GM made the ZR1 and it was good. On they seventh, they went back to making cobalts with faulty ignition switches. Unfortunately i won't rest till i own one of those

Trust me you don't need to say it twice. Only The sound of that supercharged LS9 is worth every damn penny
